The 2026 Four Corners Meeting will take place at the Macey Center on the New Mexico Tech Campus in Socorro, NM.

Socorro is a charming city situated at an elevation of 1404 m on the beautiful northern Edge of the Chihuahuan Desert in Central New Mexico along the historic trade route El Camino Real that connects Mexico City with the City of Santa Fe, NM.

Socorro has a rich history and is near spectacular natural attractions. From the San Miguel Mission, one of four missions built among the Piro Pueblos during the 1600s, to the spectacular view of San Lorenzo Canyon, Socorro offers many attractions for visitors.

How to get to Socorro

By Plane

Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) is served by all major U.S. domestic airlines.

Transfers from/to Airports and Transportation: Regular Public Transportation is Limited from Albuquerque to Socorro. Renting a car at the Airport is probably the easiest and cheapest option(~$40 per day).

By Car

Socorro, New Mexico, is primarily served by Interstate 25 (I-25), which runs north-south (Exits 147 and 150), and U.S. Route 60 (US 60), which runs east-west.

By Train

There is no direct service to Socorro. However, Albuquerque is served by train through the Alvarado Transportation Center in Downtown. There are no car rental facilities inside the Alvarado Transportation Center, but it is easily accessible to downtown rental locations, or a 15-minute ride to the Sunport’s consolidated car rental center.

By Bus

Bus service is limited, and most buses will drop you off on California Street in Socorro. From there, Socorro Transportation operates a curb-to-curb service within City Limits: Monday – Friday; 8:45 am – 4:00 pm. You must reserve in advance.

The fare per ride is 50 cents within city limits. You should have exact change, as drivers do not carry cash.
