Current research area:

Doppler Radar data analysis: Currently I'm working on a test bed to extract  wind field information from
Doppler radar  and baloon sounding  observations using variational analysis techniques.  Another project
I'm working on is the estimation of the deformation strain rate from data collected by a single Dopplerradar.

Tropical Dynamics: in particular I'm interested in understand how convection works over tropical oceans.
From September 1 to October 15, 2001. I was
involved in the field phase of EPIC. This project was designed
 to study the
east Pacific intertropical convergence zone, the associated cross-equatorial inflow, and the
east Pacific warm pool.
In the field, my major responsibilities were onboard of the  NOAA WP3-43  research aircraft.
